This little song has been traveling a lot; first written and interpreted by Feist, then beautifully covered by experimental dub crooner James Blake, and now housified by Poland’s Tanzlife. If you felt like the original needed more pace, this simple edit should please you.

Yolanda Be Cool – Villalobos For Presidente (Dubbel Dutch Remix)

by beatfluence on Feb.17, 2011, under News

I’m 100% sure you’ve heard those flute notes before. It was used in countless house tracks, and it still does the trick: you’re immediately mind-teleported in a foreign tribe of cute Ewok-looking creatures. Dubbel Dutch refreshed Villalobos For Presidente to the new year’s taste for more mind adventures. Download it for free here.

Canblaster – Clockworks

by beatfluence on Feb.17, 2011, under News

Canblaster is giving away for free the opening track of his brand new EP Master of Complication. It’s called Clockworks and you guessed why; yes, almost every sound in the song is coming from a clock, or a watch mechanism, or a metronome, or a pendulum… although technically no significant sound could come out of a pendulum… Anyway, make sure to keep an eye on this clever beatmaking youngster, he’s one of those french geniuses to watch. Checkout the EP on Beatport; remixes by Teki Latex & Para One, Bambounou, Jubilee and Magnum.

French Fries – Laquisha EP

by beatfluence on Feb.16, 2011, under News

Holy Shit! it just got released!!; French Fries delivers Laquisha, a great departure from his gigantic dutch house hit from last year, Senta. The young french producer has been flirting with his fancier beatmaking side lately (see With You, a much acclaimed collaboration with Youngunz labelmates Chaos In The CBD, and Amerie’s One Thing remix), so even though Laquisha could be labeled as a banger due to its heavy percussions and obvious reggaeton influence, there’s a definite more mature and sophisticated feel to it, majorly because of those omnipresent synths that are rapidly becoming his trademark. The EP contains three originals, each getting a remix by J-Wow, Canblaster and Lil’ Silva. Get it on Beatport.

Karavaani – Paleface!

by beatfluence on Feb.16, 2011, under Other producers

Paleface released one of the best albums of last year. “Helsinki – Shangri-La” climbed the charts last year and the music video raised quite a ruckus. Now, the Finnish breaks/suomisaundi/electro and apparently now, /dubstep -duo Kiwa made an awesome remix that’ll be officially released on the “Palaneen Käryä” remix album by Exogenic Records. Lucky me, they dropped me a preview of it and I’m obligated to share it with you. Enjoy!

Hanish DaWgStep!

by beatfluence on Feb.16, 2011, under Other producers

Yo dawgs, Imma keep this short since I just came home from work and my 0.1mbps internet speed isn’t very inspiring. Actually, its quite painful. Nevertheless I had to get this post out and off of my todo list. It’s a sweet dubstep remix from Haydn Hoffman. You might remember him from that banging remix of The Bloody Beetroots’ New Noise or his magnificent Machine remix he did for Le Castle Vania. Well this time this guy takes a bit dubsteppier approach to the tunes, Kick Snare is an excellent song and oh, you gotta love that dirty and angry bassline, there’s nothing better than an interesting dubstep tune.

F.O.O.L To Japan EP

by beatfluence on Feb.10, 2011, under Other producers

This is some sick shit, our friend F.O.O.L gives out his “To Japan And Never Back” EP for free! It’s the more melodic style that we won’t be hearing for a while from this chap since he’s aiming for a darker, dirtier and heavier sound for his future releases. Nevertheless, grab this awesome release either in it’s entirety from MediaFire or as separate tracks :)

This is not a sell out post, I don’t do those. Nu-uh, but it just happens to be so, that The Rockstars (who by the way makes some nice dubstep tunes! Check ‘em out here) made a remix of Biebs’ Never Say Never and it’s pretty funky. If you need to play a sell out set like I had to a few weeks ago, you should definitely check this out.

Have fun, and sorry for the lack of posts, I’ll start to dump older tunes like today or tomorrow!

As you might remember from last summer, I was pretty excited about Shinichi Osawa’s SO:2 album, and if possible, I’m even more excited about the upcoming remix album. It’s released the first day of December and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Someone please buy it for me as my Christmas gift :) )

Rhythm Droid, who is one of most awesome artists I’ve ever heard of (seriously, listen to this, insanely good), just uploaded a remix of Zingaroo that’ll appear on the album. Listen to it on the SC player below : )

Very chill and I love it so much <3 for more Rhythm Droid love, check out the following:

Also, Edwin Van Cleef had a remix of Love Will Guide you in his August mix but I just thought that it was a bootleg he wouldn’t give out. Turns out that it’ll also be on the remix album. No wonder, it’s amazing. More Edwinish love, check out these:

I’m super stoked and can’t wait to see what other tracks there’ll be on the album!
